The issue of Women & Armed Conflict was already highlighted in the Begjing Plattform of Action in 1995. The topic has gained even more importance with the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 in 2000 and its additional resolutions.
All these international documents underline the diffrent impact of armend conflict on women and men, due to their diffrent social positions. To be aware of the differences helps to understand gender- and power realtions in situation of conflict and war.
Within this project the diffrent country contexts were analyzed on various institutional levels in order to understand how feminity and masculinity is construced within those societies and how the change during a conflict.
