In collaboration with the African Cultural Foundation the VIDC is organising a public discussion on the 3rd of October at 6pm on the topic of ‘International perspectives on climate justice and whitewashing in the climate movement’. 

The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the colonial roots of the climate crisis, to support the political participation of Black and Indigenous voices in the climate debate, and to provide practical options for environmentally conscious behaviour and climate activism.

  • Pato Kelesitse – Sustainable development & climate justice, founder of Sustain267 (Botswana)
  • Noemi Zenk-Agyei – Legal scholar, climate activist, researcher on environmental justice, trade & international law (Netherlands)
  • Adaora Ofoedu – co-founder of the Black Women's Community, trainer for environmental awareness, STEM education and anti-racism (Austria)
