Winning projects of the 2nd Diaspora Call

The second call for Diapora projects is closed! The aim of the call, which is supported by Women Helping Women, is to empower women and girls in the diaspora and to give more visibility to the diverse engagement of women.
On December 17, 2021, a jury with representatives from Women Helping Women and VIDC discussed the submissions and finally selected four exciting projects for funding. These are the winning projects - congratulations!


"Afghan Women's Choir in Vienna" by the association SOS Balkanroute

The goal of the project is to establish a political Afghan women's choir that will meet weekly and have its first performance on March 21, 2022 on the occasion of the Afghan New Year. Subsequently, the choir will perform at political demonstrations and events.


"In search of our voice as girls and women* of the African Diaspora in Vienna" by Migranzine - Online Magazine of Migrant Women for All and the association teneke

Within the framework of workshops, the written production of Afrodiasporic and Black girls and women* will be strengthened. Writing is used as a tool of self-expression and healing.


"Unleashing Female Potential" by the association MIA - Migrants, Integration, Labor Market

The coaching, counseling and career orientation project for Arabic-speaking women with the goal of labor market integration focuses on counseling and support for migrants* and family members, especially in social and societal matters, which is of particular relevance in times of crisis.


"Violence prevention and personal development for women through sports" by Spin Refugees

The project is aimed at Afghan women. The starting point is a workshop to address the topic of body & sport and related issues such as body-shaming. Subsequently, swimming courses are offered to the participants.
